Kick off meeting
The eight of June was the day for the official start of the SPIM-EU project. It was a meeting at CHAFEA (Consumers, Health, Agriculture and Food Executive Agency) with representatives from 5 EU countries with only one goal: Reducing the morbidity and mortality of cardio-metabolic diseases by developing a toolbox to implement selective prevention programs in all EU-member states.
The SPIM-EU project consists of 8 work packages and every partner is responsible for one or two of them. In the end all the ideas and information from the 8 work packages will be placed in a ‘toolbox’ together. This will enable every European country to implement a selective prevention program for cardio-metabolic diseases which can be tailored, based on the available information in the Toolbox, to the specific conditions in the country. This tailored approach will make this toolbox very useful for different countries with different health care systems.
During this kick off meeting, every work package was discussed. Things were clarified, good ideas were suggested, and knowledge and experience were shared.
After two very interesting and fruitful days everyone went home full with energy and enthusiasm to start (or continue) with their part of the project.
We will keep you updated with information from the SPIM-EU project on this website.
